Target groups

Personal finance management has become a life skill of the 21st century and in this sense financial literacy programs taught in schools contribute to the future life of students, especially for those with disabilities, learning difficulties and representing other disadvantaged groups (such as ethnical minorities). Such program as our can give the desired “practical and life” orientation to the learning process “. – Eg. “Increasing opportunities for the inclusion of these students in society and the labour market through the acquisition of knowledge and skills for financial literacy, as an important life skill of the 21st century in accordance to the White book on financial literacy in Bulgaria.

We have two major target groups planned to be involved in the main training activities of the project:
– To produce training materials (handbook and educative videos) and to train 50 students with special needs/disabilities and 100 disadvantaged students who have basic local language speaking to increase their financial literacy knowledge, including building financial skills, behaviour and socialisation.
– To equip 50 teachers with guidance material on inclusion of financial literacy training as part of extracurricular curriculum.

However, in the process of realisation of the project we will involve also:
– 10 school principals (2 per country)
– 10 pedagogical counsellors (2 per country)
Their role in the project was related to the monitoring of the process of realisation of the financial literacy training. In addition, the project activities have been supported also by representatives of educational supervisors (Universities, Center for Inclusive Education, Center for Educational Integration of Children and Students from Ethnic Minorities, Regional Department of Education) local municipalities, social services, job centers – 10 representatives per country, who provided added value to the realisation of the training and who facilitate potential transition to the labour integration upon graduation of the above mentioned vulnerable students.
